heheh - the ones we have near us are comical - the bars rotate in their mounts, so if you do try to do a chin up or push ups, the damn things spin round and spit you off. Not helpful. So as a result, they are used by dogs and grafiti artists and no one else.

Hey as I say to anybody who asks; just don't eat anything and run 4 miles a day, ther erst is easy!!!

See Gyms, can't do them, too much hassle, thats why I run. My work life is too unpredictable to get the most out of a gym. Where as running I can do that anywhere, particularly now I can plan a route using Google Earth or RunLondon.

Ah yes - the old motivation thing. If you keep going with the exercise, even if its just ticking over, its far easier to pick it all back up again, but I have found that a few nights of "pulling up at the fence" and slobbing it on the sofa can destroy all morale and willpower. Ah well - good luck and get those goals. I'm still finding it hard to more…

I must confess to being more of a soft rocker than hard, but show me a good piece of Shap granite or a nise Lewisian gneiss and I'll be happy enough!! I always take my hammer on holiday in case I see something worth a look. Once the bug is in you, its hard to get out!! more…

Glad to meet a fellow rock basher - we're a rare breed..normaly geologists are to be found in charity shops looking for wide collared shirts and jackets with elbow patches. To see 2 of us willingly doing physical activity is a truly amazing coincidence!! more…

I've found the best cure for stitches, twinges etc is just to keep running, after a mile or 2 they usually go away for me.
